Graphics Tablet and LCD Monitor
The Graphics Tablet
What is a Graphics Tablet ?
A graphics tablet is a flat, portable pad which allows the users to draw, write and perform the software functions with a stylus. It is used mostly by graphics designers and the illustrators. You can produce much more accurate drawings on the screen than you can with the mouse or the other pointing device. It is an input device.
What is it made up of ?
It consists of
a tablet and a pen or known as ‘stylus’. When you draw with the pen, an image will be created on the computer monitor cause of the connected tablet.
How does it work technically ?
-
The tablet works by being plugged to a computer with a USB port. When drawing, the design will not show up on the tablet but will show on computer , the action generates a signal that goes to a vertical grid of wires running across the tablet. The design will be projected on the connected computer

The stylus can be battery-powered or can have a cord. When a user draw a line using the stylus, the coil circuit (type of a conductor) transfers the signals to the main circuit that is found inside the stylus. The stylus calculates the number of line-length, while the pressure sensitive pressure (sensors – replace buttons) measures the pressure of the lines. The stylus in this case is the data signal and it is detected by a grid of wires in the pad that is known as the sensor board.
